Who is Eligible for NDIS Disability and Aged Care?

To be eligible for these services in Australia, an individual must fall under a specific age, condition, and other criteria, which are as follows:

Funding for Aged Care

You must meet specific requirements to be eligible for an assessment. Among them are

  • The degree of support required for daily duties
  • Being 65 years of age or older (for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people, 50+)

Note: If you are 50 or older, have a low income, are homeless, or are in danger of becoming homeless, please visit myagedcare.gov.au or call the My Aged Care contact centre at 1800 200 422 to discuss your circumstances.

Funding for Disability Care

People must meet the following requirements to be eligible for an NDIS assessment:

  • The impairment must significantly affect day-to-day functioning because of permanent and significant disability.
  • The age must be between 7 and 65 years old.
  • Citizenship, permanent residency, or possession of a Protected Special Category Visa are prerequisites for residency in Australia.

Note: The handicap must impact the person’s capacity to engage in social and economic activities. For comprehensive details on the requirements and evaluation procedure, visit ndis.gov.au or call 1800 800 110.

Government Funding

Numerous federal and state-funded programmes are available to support your independence and overall well-being. Each programme has its own requirements, and one’s location may affect access to certain programmes. We assist at every stage of the application procedure.

Home Care Package (HCP)

If you require support for more complex tasks, you must choose this government-funded service.

          FAQ's

          Frequently Asked Questions

You can access funding through the Commonwealth Home Support Programme or Home Care Packages via My Aged Care. Both offer financial assistance depending on your care requirements and calculate your payments through a means test.

Capital Support for assistive technology, Capacity Building for skill development, and Core Support for everyday activities are all covered by the NDIS, which provides funding based on your specific disability requirements. Completing an evaluation and fulfilling specific requirements are eligibility criteria.

Your assets and income determine contributions to My Aged Care. Although some services, including mobility, may need minimal donations, the NDIS typically covers necessary support expenditures.
